Nature reserves
Bergslagen, the heart of the Örebro region,is a pearl for nature enthusiasts. Over 150 nature reserves have been created in order to allow the public to experience Swedish nature.
Discover nature in Hällefors where the vast, deep forests of Bergslagen can be found. Here, there are many miles of hiking trails, wondferful lakes and rivers. In Hällefors we have several nature reserves where you can enjoy the peace and quiet.
We recommend you a visit to Knuthöjdsmossen, Björskogsnäs, Kindla and Hökhöjden.
Silverleden - a hiking trail
In the nature around Hällefors the hiking trail of Silverleden is winding its paths up and down steep hills, along the rippling waters, the golden cloudberry bogs and through deep forrests.
After a long day on foot, you arrive exhausted to attractive shelters by the lakes where, if you are lucky you can become acquainted with the red-throated diver and ospreys.
The trail is a loop-trail which starts and ends at Hurtigtorpet in Hällefors. The distance is approx 60 km.
We recommend you to combine your walk with a canoe trip as the trail crosses wonderful canoe waters both at the village Sävsjön and Silvergruvan.
